Prior to putting a shovel in ground there are numerous hoops you need to jump through and with it associated fees. The end goal is your DA approved so your builder can start building.

I want to break out this page to simply highlight there is significant work and costs that go into submitting all this documentation to council with drawing up your plans and council approval.

For me all this paperwork accounted to a significant amount of money to get my Development Application successfully approved by council.

So keep this in mind when budgeting for a house extension as you may find this where some of your unaccounted costs are consumed unless they are all included within your builders costs.
